In the wake of unprecedented data breaches, state and federal regulators have enacted legislation placing the protection of personal information squarely on the shoulders of businesses of all types and size. Simultaneously, an entire industry has spawned of identity theft products, from personal protection to specialized liability to cyber security and financial loss. This class will address the scope and cost of the problem, including the various types of identity theft, current regulatory requirements, such as FACTA and PA Breach Notification Act, and what needs to be done for compliance. Additionally, the class will include a look at the various categories of insurance-related products and services. |
